The Sweet Spot Motorcycle Carburetion and Exhaust video features Marc Salvisberg of Factory Professional Tuning instructing on the design, theory and installation of the ideal motorcycle exhaust system/carburetion and motorcycle jetting set-up. From slip-on exhaust systems to full exhaust systems to jetting properly for the exhaust system you have chosen, to a detailed explanation of how re-jetting a stock motorcycle will improve its performance even with the stock exhaust system - when it's properly tuned, this video is packed with information.
Marc Salvisberg is here to teach you not only why but how. Step-by-step Marc will first install a slip-on exhaust system, then we'll go on to a full exhaust system. While installing each of the exhaust systems on our project motorcycle, Marc will point out differences for the various other motorcycles that you may have. He will show you just how much weight you will save by taking the stock exhaust off and replacing it with an aftermarket system. For those of you looking for increased horsepower, taking weight off the motorcycle will equate to more horsepower.
When you change the exhaust restriction of your motorcycle, you have to change the carburetion to match. So we'll go ahead and pull the carburetors off and install a jet kit, step-by-step, then reassemble and reinstall the carburetors back into the motorcycle. When you have this many carburetors on a motorcycle, it's important when you re-jet to be consistent with everything that you are doing. Marc will show you some of the tricks to getting old pieces out and getting the new jet kit in place. You will get a complete description of the different jet kit configurations, and what the professional jetting requirements are vs. the street use requirements.
Marc lists some of the symptoms and solutions of an improperly jetted motorcycle, or one with plugged jets. He'll teach you how to adjust your float level settings, and tells you why this is important.
Marc shows you how to properly use carb sticks to synchronize the carburetors. He will show you exactly what to adjust to be sure that your motorcycle will run at its peak performance.
Finally, Marc hooks the motorcycle up to a 4-gas analyzer. He explains what each of the settings is measuring, and gives a precise analysis and explanation of what power band each of the jet systems in your carburetor is handling.
Marc's advice? "When rejetting your motorcycle carburetors, be careful, sensible, organized, and take your time."
